2023 3D Printing Lab Journal
The July 2023 note kicks off with “3D Printing a Levitating Moon™ Lamp” and a giant list of keywords (hover moon lamp, moonlight lamp, diy levitating magnet). We used that note as our lab journal for prototyping new shells and marketing angles.
Lab Highlights
- Materials: PLA for durability, resin for high detail, glow powder for ambient shine.
- Research: Linked out to PopSci’s mussel hinge story and forums.space.com for inspiration.
- CTA brainstorming: “Science + Art + Relaxation + Wonder + FUN!” became the tagline for the maker series.
Levitating Moon™ Lamp Setup Instructions (Quick Reference)
- Position the magnetic base on a level workbench and plug it in.
- Hold the freshly printed moon with both hands, line it up over the base, and lower slowly.
- Release once the levitation locks in place so you can test balance before post-processing.
- Tap through the lighting modes to see how different filament finishes diffuse light.
- Keep the official PDF from the Dropbox Content folder open beside the printer for quick reference.
Why We Document
Every maker session produced lines of copy, keywords, and product shots. Without the Dropbox note, we’d forget which prototype resonated. Document everything—it fuels the next decade of content.
